Ilana holds an Honors Degree in Clinical Psychoanalysis from the University of Santa Ursula (Rio de Janeiro,Brazil) and is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association.
Ilana is an experienced psychoanalyst, having worked in private practice seeing adults, couples and children, with a special interest on anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. Ilana also has an particular interest in working with infertility issues, as well as recent immigrants to Australia and the issues they face settling in the country and culture. Ilana worked as a psychoanalyst on some governmental social projects in needy communities in Brazil.
Ilana will often adjust her techniques to meet the client’s needs as each individual is unique and demands a different hearing/ approach. Ilana is integrating Mindfulness in her sessions, finding the method can be very useful at times.
Ilana is the author of a honours-thesis entitled “Psychoanalysis and Holocaust: an intersectional approach”
