Vanessa is an experienced, professional counsellor for individuals and couples therapy. She also works as a therapist at South Pacific Private Hospital with clients recovering from trauma and addiction. Registered as a Level 2 Psychotherapist with the Australian Counselling Association and with a Diploma of Professional Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, Vanessa has also worked as a Crisis Counsellor at Lifeline, trained in crisis support, suicide prevention and family violence counselling.

In a safe, caring space, Vanessa provides support for you to express your feelings, be heard and understood, working with your knowledge and experiences to take apart the messy knot of problems, decide the focus, explore your options, clarify your goals and develop your skills towards reaching them.

Vanessa tailors her approach to meet the individual and complex needs of her clients, drawing from a variety of therapeutic methods incorporating a strengths-based, person-centred approach. Vanessa works with both individuals and couples to address communication and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, conflict, family dysfunction, trauma, addiction, and transitions in life.

Vanessa’s background in the performing arts has given her an appreciation of the incredible diversity in perspectives and choices we make as individuals and the importance of authentic connection in our lives – connection to both self and others.
